message from the executive director

In this newsletter, we bring you some great events to help you in your business.  If you are a supplier to government or local government ($41 billion annual spend) don’t miss our procurement seminar, where some of the biggest spending agencies will tell you what they are looking for in suppliers and how being a local business is going to count much more in tenders.
New procurement rules are out for consultation as well, so any feedback on that – please let me know for our submission.

Feedback from exporters on industrial relations changes

ExportNZ recently released our 2018 annual survey of exporters.

Over 400 exporters responded to the survey and they were a good mix of small to medium to larger exporters. When asked what their major barriers to exporting were, the number one concern this year was “domestic regulation, e.g. upcoming changes to the industrial relations laws”.

In order to understand this better, we have interviewed some SME exporters and horticulturalists. We are raising these concerns to the government.
